Ford Mustang tire size and battery
What fits a Ford Mustang, generation by generation: the factory tire sizes by trim, the battery group and the wiper blade lengths. Each line is checked against two independent sources. Before you buy, read the sticker inside the driver's door: it lists the size your Mustang left the factory with.

| Size | Overall diameter, in | Width, in | Sidewall, in | Revolutions per mile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 235/50R18 | 27.3 | 9.3 | 4.6 | 740 |
| 255/45R18 | 27.0 | 10.0 | 4.5 | 746 |

| 275/40R19 | 27.7 | 10.8 | 4.3 | 729 |
From the shortest factory size, 255/40R19 (27.0 in tall), to the tallest, 235/50R18 (27.3 in), the overall diameter grows 0.8%. Fit the tall one on a vehicle set up for the short one and, at an indicated 60 mph, you are really doing about 60.5 mph. Stay with the sizes listed for your trim, or compare two sizes first. Rear-only sizes of staggered setups (a wider tire in back on the same car) are left out of this comparison.

How we checked this page
Checked on October 17, 2026. We kept a fact only when two independent sources agree, and each one is numbered to its sources below; every fact has its own link (#) so you can point to it. Diameters, widths, sidewalls and revolutions are calculated from the size code, not quoted. We never write a price: the listings come straight from eBay and show what sellers ask. This page was written with an AI assistant and checked against the sources below.
